Red carpet : Luke Bracey At ‘Point Break’ Premiere
Just 24 hours after the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” world premiere invaded Hollywood, “Point Break” premiere rode the wave of movie revival excitement.
Stars Luke Bracey, Edgar Ramirez and Teresa Palmerwalked the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday night to amp up the excitement for the extreme-sports thriller.
The reboot of Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves‘ beloved surfing bank robber thriller sees Bracey taking over the lead role of Johnny Utah with Ramirez as philosopher-antagonist Bodhi, originally played by the late “Ghost” star.

While the 1991 action hit was directed by Kathryn Bigelow, the latest incarnation is directed by Ericson Core and written by Kurt Wimmer.
Stormtroopers and droids dominated the red carpet on Monday for “The Force Awakens” premiere, but “Point Break’s” added entertainment came from wing-suit pilots jumping 6,000 feet out of a helicopter, and Monster Energy BMX riders doing stunts.

The new film moves from the Southern California surf scene and goes international, with the first trailer having teased such extreme stunts as a skydiving bank heist, as well as action sequences involving snowboarding, base jumping and mountain climbing — all in the name of disrupting the international financial market.
Australian actor Bracey has previously starred in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “The November Man” and “The Best of Me.” Meanwhile, Ramirez is from Venezuela and has appeared in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.”
The new “Point Break” will be released via Warner Bros. on Christmas Day, Dec. 25.
