Royal News : Pince Carl Philip of Sweden, Prince Harry and more
Pince Carl Philip of Sweden and his wife Princess Sofia are expecting their first child. The Swedish royal palace made the joyous announcement on Facebook, confirming that Sofia will give birth in the spring of next year.
The palace also revealed: “The birth is expected to take place in April of 2016. No changes in the schedule of The Prince Couple’s public engagements are planned during the fall of 2015.”
The Facebook post has received over 65,000 likes on the Royal Swedish Court’s page.
The prince’s elder sister, Crown Princess Victoria, is also pregnant and due to give birth to her second child in March.
On October 12, 2015, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden attended the opening of “Sports Without Borders” activities in a school in Norrtalje, Sweden. (Sports Without Borders is a not-for-profit organisation which provides support for young people from new and emerging communities to overcome the barriers of participation in community sport.)
Carl Philip was on hand for the 4-month-old’s christening at the Royal Chapel in the Drottningholm Palace, Stockholm.

Earlier this month the pregnant royal showed off her maternal side as she visited a refugee centre in Dalarna province, where Sofia originally hails from.

Prince William revealed how his mother’s work with bereaved families had inspired his own public duties in an emotional speech last night at the Banqueting Hall, London.
The second in line to the throne, 33, was speaking at a gala dinner to mark the 21st anniversary of Child Bereavement UK, which the late Princess Diana helped to launch and he is now patron of.

Harry was joining his grandmother the Queen in opening the doors of her London residence to welcome the athletes and other guests. Her Majesty’s husband Prince Philip and daughter Princess Anne also attended the Monday evening affair.

Approximately 400 guests were invited to the event to celebrate those involved in the sporting tournament, including staff, volunteers, senior officials from England Rugby 2015, Rugby Football Union, World Rugby and Rugby World Cup Ltd.
