Red carpet : Ronan Keating’s Emeralds and Ivy Ball

Sydney’s celebrity set put on their best black tie and descended on Sydney’s Town Hall last night to support Keating’s annual charity event, Cancer Council Australia’s Emeralds and Ivy Ball.

And on Friday night, Ronan Keating and his new wife Storm Uechtritz put on a similarly luxe display on the red carpet ahead of this year’s Emeralds & Ivy Ball .

Ronan, 38, looked decidedly dapper in a three-piece suit teamed with a white shirt and black bow-tie.

The event, which was hosted by founder Ronan, was held in support of Cancer Council Australia, and saw a slew of VIP guests in its crowd.

More than $406,000 was raised throughout the night with funds supporting Cancer Council’s Forgotten Cancers Project, a vital research project aimed at improving and understanding the causes of less common cancers.

Kyly and Michael Clarke were among the celebrity guests at the event.

British crooner and X-Factor judge James Blunt and host Ronan Keating both performed their hits, while aerial artist DJ Goodwill and X-Factor finalists Michaela Baranov, Jimmy Davis, Louise Adams and Matt and Jess also took to the stage.

Ronan founded the Emeralds and Ivy Ball in the UK 10 years ago and the event has since become one of London’s most prestigious nights on the annual charity calendar. He partnered with Cancer Council Australia to bring the ball to Sydney four years ago and it has established itself as one of Sydney’s premier charity events.
